Celebrate the Extra Day

Did you know that 2024 is a Leap Year? And this Thursday, February 29th, is Leap Day! Julius Caesar first introduced Leap Day over 2,000 years ago. We have Leap Day because the Earth’s orbit around the Sun is not exactly 365 days, but 365.2421 days. This means that an additional 24 hours are built into the calendar to keep the seasons aligned. Celebrate the extra day by preparing a delicious family dinner. We have a wide assortment of dinnertime recipes, from pot roast to meatloaf, baked salmon, fish tacos, pulled pork sandwiches, baby back ribs, spaghetti bolognaise and so much more.

Bianchini’s seafood festival continues with another seafood special. All Tonnino glass jar tuna is 20% off. Tonnino hand cuts and hand packs their tuna in glass jars to show that the quality of each filet is clearly visible and helps keep the filets intact. Tonnino uses the pole and line fishing method to catch their tuna. This ensures that each tuna is wildly caught and sustainable for the ocean by minimizing the bycatch of other fish and sea life. Perfectly Crunchy Tortilla Chips

Celebrate National Tortilla Chip Day is Saturday, 2/24, with your favorite dip or sauce and a bag of Bianchini’s House Made Tortilla Chips. We hand cut and fry our tortilla chips in small batches, ensuring that they’re perfectly crisp with a satisfying crunch The tortilla chip has a fun history that dates back to the 1940’s. Rebecca Webb Carranza and her husband had an automated tortilla manufacturing machine for their Mexican delicatessen and tortilla factory in southwest Los Angeles. Rebecca noticed that misshapen tortillas were discarded by the machine, and not wanting to have them go to waste, decided to cut them into triangles and fry them. The triangular snacks were sold for a dime per bag and became a hit at the El Zarape Tortilla Factory. For her contributions to the Mexican food industry, Rebecca was awarded the Golden Tortilla in 1994.
