Pure Delicious Local Honey

We have something extra sweet to celebrate this September, it’s National Honey Month! To celebrate National Honey Month, we brought in some of the most delicious local honey from Ed’s Honey Company. Ed Brinkman began beekeeping as a hobby in the Orange County orange groves. That hobby soon turned into a passion that blossomed into a business. After connecting with other beekeepers and learning that different crops like wildflower, raspberry and blackberry contribute to diverse flavors within the honey itself, Ed began to strategically place his bees across numerous locations in the California Bay Area and Central Valley. It wasn’t long before Ed began bottling and selling his 100% natural and unfiltered honey. One of his more popular honey varieties is The Urban Blend, which is sourced from the flora in his own backyard. Stop by this week to get your own bottle of Ed’s Honey and discover the wonderful flavors of local honey.

Delectable Round Challah Loaves

Rosh Hashanah, Jewish New Year, begins this Friday evening, 9/15, and ends at sundown on Sunday, 9/17. Celebrate Rosh Hashanah by serving round challah bread from local As Kneaded Bakery. The circular shape of the bread is meant to symbolize the wheel of seasons and turning of a new year. Challah is a rich bread with a soft texture that’s enriched with eggs and has just a touch of sweetness. As Kneaded Bakery is locally owned and operated by founder Iliana Berkowitz. Inspired by the sourdough culture of the Bay Area and the long history and rich breadmaking traditions of her Jewish heritage, Iliana wanted to share love of fine baked goods with the masses. As Kneaded Bakery’s famous round challah will be available in our bakery this Friday and Saturday. Available in plain, poppy and raisin.

Superior Tasting Artichokes

Stop by our produce department to find farm fresh artichokes from local grower Lakeside Organic Gardens. Lakeside growers Dick and Juan walk the artichoke fields daily ensuring that optimal quality and flavor standards are met. Lakeside Organic Gardens artichokes are hand harvested and the sharp tips snipped for hasslefree cooking and easy enjoyment. When selecting an artichoke, look for one with a healthy green color, compact center leaves and is firm to the touch.
